introducing: just a byte

Gretchen

Back when we wrote for JobsBlog, Zoe and I distributed one-off advice like there was no tomorrow.  Check out the comments section of any of our old JobsBlog posts, and you’ll see why we were named the Best Blog for Jobseekers last year. :)

But now that we have our own business, we’ve been torn between advice we give away for free … and advice we charge for through our consultation services.

We miss dispensing good ol’ free advice, so we’ve decided to start a new feature called Just a Byte.  You email us a question at justabyte@jobsyntax.com, and we’ll try (can’t always promise) to feature your query and our answer in an upcoming blog post.  We’ll then post your question in the JobSyntax Forums so others can offer their perspectives.  We will keep names confidential.

So if you are a software engineer wanting advice on application processes, interview techniques or even offer negotiations, shoot the JobGals an email at justabyte@jobsyntax.com

And if you are an employer wanting advice on sourcing, attracting, evaluating, and closing great software engineers, the same goes for you … email us at justabyte@jobsyntax.com

We can’t promise a response to each question, but we’ll try our best.

gretchen and zoë

P.S.  And eventually, we'll create a cute little graphic to go with this feature. :)
