The Seattle Times' John Cook (the paper's VC reporter) takes a shot at listing out Seattle area "Web 2.0" start-ups.  He counts 64, and readers add many more in his comments.   John also links to this national list of start-ups.  And guess what?  Most are looking for great software engineers. :)

On a related note, Jobster's Jason Goldberg (a web 2.0 start-up included on John's list) hosted a fun experiment on his blog where folks in the recruiting industry attempted to define the ambigious "web 2.0." term.  Good read.
