We’re looking for an ambitious Android MDM (Mobile Device Management) Engineer to join our platform team in building the world’s first XR healthcare platform! As an Android Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining headless applications for Android VR headsets, remote spectating (ie. realtime video streaming) and a desktop application to provision Android devices. Most of these applications are Android agents relying on our backend to function without any user interaction. You will work closely with other engineers and project managers to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and ensure the high performance, scalability and reliability of our Android applications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain headless Android agents to manage fleets of devices as well as a video streaming solution for remote spectating.
  • Test and adapt our solution to support new devices (VR headsets).
  • Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to gather requirements and design solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Kotlin, using Coroutines, Flow, Ktor, Jetpack Compose / Compose for Desktop.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in Android applications.
  • Ensure the high performance, scalability, and reliability of our Android applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Android applications.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Coroutines and Kotlin Flows
  • Experience with Android Studio and Git.
  • Understanding of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with VR headsets and Device Owner is a plus.
  • Experience with Github Actions and Gradle scripting is a plus.
  • AOSP experience is appreciated but we are not working within AOSP
