Data Scientist (US East Coast)

OGC is a boutique market research and data analysis consulting firm specializing in customer experience analytics, innovation testing, and data visualization. We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team.
Our mission is to help our clients become more insightful, create happier end customers, and uncover opportunities to grow their businesses. We employ a hands-on approach to research and consulting: we follow a comprehensive discovery process, apply advanced analysis techniques using state-of-the-art tools, draw conclusions collaboratively in cross-functional teams, and utilize workshops to foster action.
Our client portfolio is international, with a focus on US-based, Fortune 500 companies, across a variety of industries such as Financial Services, Specialty Retail, Telecommunications, Hospitality, and Software.
This position is remote working on the East Coast of the US.
The ideal candidate for this position is a bright, independent, detail-oriented individual, with a strong analytical background, who is passionate about using data to help customers drive strategic decisions and business improvements. They are a methodological problem solver who is driven by curiosity to find answers to challenging puzzles. We are looking for a candidate who loves working with people, has an excellent business acumen, and who is always eager to learn. Our data scientists are self-starters, with a strong technical background and a deep familiarity with data analysis and quantitative research methodologies.
In this role, you will work directly with our clients and deliver consulting projects to senior stakeholders, with the end goal of leveraging data to help our clients drive strategic decisions and business improvements. This position provides an excellent opportunity to apply your strong analytical background to the Market Research and Customer Experience domain while working directly with global, Fortune 500 companies.
Responsibilities include

Work with other data scientists, designers, and project managers on interdisciplinary projects using your skillset to derive structure and knowledge from raw data across various industry sectors

Work on complex and varied data sets from some of the world’s largest organizations to solve real-world problems

Develop data science products and solutions for clients, as well as for our data science team

Work with our UX and Visual Design teams to interpret your complex models and analysis into user-focused visualizations

Use new technologies and problem-solving skills in a multicultural and creative environment

Support the execution of quantitative research and consulting projects from start to finish

Client Communication and engagement including building and delivering insights-based reports

Execute on consulting projects from start to end including project planning, data analysis, modeling, and building insights-based reports

Build, deploy and automate various algorithms (classification, regression, forecasting)

Automate the production of reports and analyses

Transform large volumes of data from internal and external sources in a manner suitable for analysis

Research new data sources, analytical tools, and methodologies for data science and data engineering

Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing requests, focusing on delivering key insights

Provide an expert point of view on analytical techniques and guidance to our analysts and sales directors

Bachelor’s degree from a top university

MA/MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or other quantitative field – An advantage

3+ years of professional experience as a project-oriented data analyst or scientist

Strong quantitative background with a high comfort level for learning new technologies
