Job Description
As a critical member of the Clean Earth Human Resources team, the Human Resources Manager, West Region, will be a pillar of support within the greater South region of the US and be a partner to approximately 500 exempt, non-exempt and temporary employees across 15-20 Clean Earth locations. Reporting directly to the HR Director, South Operations, you will be joining a dedicated team of HR professionals who advocate the continued success of our operational teams, serving as the HR leader in development and implement of HR services and practices to ensure consistent and positive employee relations. You will be a partner on all aspects of the employee life cycle including onboarding, company culture, and employee engagement. You’ll work closely with two HR Managers and the Regional HR Director in the development, implementation and communication of policies, procedures, programs, initiatives, and activities to increase retention and further employee satisfaction. You’ll be the region’s HR main point of contact driving change management, employment law, leadership development, benefits and compensation, talent management, workforce planning, AAP/EEO, contractor management, special projects, and diversity, engagement, and inclusion efforts. This role is remote, and you will be based out of our Corporate office in King of Prussia, PA.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Execute HR projects and initiatives in support of HR and business operations objectives, ensuring that HR performance effectively supports the achievement of business objectives.
- Evaluate employee retention and engagement trends and provide solutions to deliver effective organizational performance; own focus groups, identify trends, communicate results, and execute initiatives in alignment with operational objectives.
- Coach and support leadership in development and execution of talent management programs such as effective goal management, performance management, succession planning, career and talent development at all levels of the organization.
- Support recruiting top talent following current EEO/AA guidelines for all positions utilizing available resources to maintain an effective work force. Partner with recruiting teams to ensure sourcing of top talent and achievement of recruiting metrics.
- Capture voice of the employee and drive effective change to improve the employment experience.
- Assess and communicate data based turnover trends leveraging metrics and attrition KPIs. Develop effective solutions to ensure that turnover is held to an acceptable level.
- Investigate, manage, and thoroughly document Employee Relations issues and support a positive employee culture in line with Harsco & Clean Earth core values. Partner with operations to manage in a mostly non-union environment, escalating to legal and Director as needed.
- Maintain working knowledge of compensation ranges for regional job titles and positions; execute and analyze annual and ad-hoc merit and bonus processes.
- Collaborate with Manager, Talent for need and timing for delivery of HR training to operational partners, to include training on HR cyclical processes; delivery of training as required.
- Act as HR point of contact for cascading regular regional and HR communications.
- Review, interpret and be subject matter expert on all company policies to assure consistent application and equitable employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of the DOL/OFCCP laws and regulations to include knowledge on AAPs, EEOC, Unemployment and Workers’ Compensation.
- Initiate and document ADA Interactive Dialogues, review restrictions and accommodate accordingly. Partner and administer leaves of absence.
- Administration of company benefit programs.
- Ability to develop and engage as part of a strong nationwide HR team.
- Partner with senior leadership with various corporate initiatives.
- Complete and interpret routine reports for senior management review and approval.
- Special projects and other reasonable tasks & responsibilities as required.
This is a hands-on role where you will be traveling to field locations approximately 25% of the time (about 35% travel if you work from home). Preferred candidate will reside in CA.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 Annually; 10% Annual Bonus Target
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or business-related field
- 5+ years of HR experience; 3 in a HR Business Partner or HR Manager role
- Experience supporting employees in a distributed workforce
- Must be willing and able to work in a hands-on manner to execute key initiatives and activities.
- Strong knowledge of CA employment laws
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Change Management experience
- SHRM certification (PC, SPC, SPHR, PHR)
- Excellent written and communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience managing projects, and multiple priorities
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Ability to lead and work through others, effective delegation skills
- Must be responsive and have excellent attention to detail skills
- Excellent computer skills, must have strong Excel skills
- Experience and Understanding of California EMployment Law
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Metrics and data driven. Must be able to interpret and speak with data.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize
